I have to admit that I got a bit teary eyed when all of the players went over and shook Doug Collins hand after the buzzer. Even though I’ve heard Collins tell the ’72 Games story about a million times, it’s good to know that these players know their roots. Just a great run for a great team. I’m proud to be an American, proud to be an NBA fan and proud that this team got their Gold.
