During Friday's Phillies-Cubs contest at Wrigley Field, Kevin Frandsen of the Phillies hit a game-tying solo homer in the seventh. Comedian Jon Lovitz was in the Cubs WGN broadcast booth, and reacted with what I would best describe as "restrained jubilation", spouting off every cliche in the book.

Of course, that led to Len Kasper admonishing Lovitz when he asked, "don't you ever get excited?" Lovitz then called the replay of the homer a "lucky bunt line drive for a home run" before going into a bit that he does as a baseball announcer, which was painful (to put it mildly).

If you were the coach of Ole Miss, how would you have responded to Johnny Long’s celebration?

Vote below
  • I would address it with the umpire to ensure fairness.
  • I would ignore the celebration and focus on motivating my team.
  • I would lodge a formal complaint after the game.
  • I would use it as a motivator to rally my team.

About Joe Lucia

I hate your favorite team. I also sort of hate most of my favorite teams.
