Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall has never been shy about his opinions. Marshall, who also serves as a host on Showtime’s Inside The NFL, has been making headlines in the past few weeks. Last week, Marshall ripped Detroit Lions center Dominic Raiola, calling for him to be banned from the NFL after he stomped on Bears defensive tackle Ego Ferguson in a Week 16 contest.
On Monday, Marshall went off over the airwaves again, this time on radio host Carmen DeFalco of ESPN 100 in Chicago. DeFalco has been critical of Marshall this season, saying that the organization is scared of him, according to The Big Lead. Marshall wasn’t having that kind of talk, and hammered DeFalco, calling him a clown and saying that he “shouldn’t be on the radio.”
This is what it sounds like after a 5-11 season when you played for one of the most disappointing teams in the NFL.
Marshall is fighting an unwinnable war, raging against the machine that is sports talk radio. The Bears are coming off a miserable 5-11 season, including five consecutive defeats to finish off the disaster. Luckily for Marshall, the Bears are now in the midst of a coaching search, taking the focus off him for the foreseeable future and on the unmitigated failure that was Marc Trestman and Phil Emery.
