My favorite college class was Civil War History.  Why was it my favorite college class you ask?  Because nearly the entire course consisted of watching Ken Burns’ famed Civil War documentary.  You can have Gus Johnson or Ian Darke or even Morgan Freeman to narrate your life, but I would take Shelby Foote above anyone else.  If you haven’t seen the Civil War series yet, and I say this will all the authority of my position as a sports blogger, do it.

As part of a new project, the documentarian is commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Gettysburg Address by encouraging as many people as possible to recite and learn the most famous speech in American history. It’s all part of the “Learn the Address” campaign.  Here’s the ESPN mash-up version that is very cool:
