St. Louis Post-Dispatch columnist Joe Strauss passed away on Sunday morning from complications related to leuekemia. He was just 54. Before working for the Post-Dispatch, Strauss covered the Braves for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and the Orioles for the Baltimore Sun, among other outlets.
Last December, Post-Dispatch columnist Brian Burwell passed away at 59 following a battle with cancer. Burwell and Strauss previous co-hosted a radio show at St. Louis station WGN 920 AM.
The tributes to Strauss poured in from across the Internet soon after word of his passing.
Fox’s Ken Rosenthal wrote a beautiful column in tribute to his colleague and friend.
Derrick Gould of the Post-Dispatch did the same.
Other local and national columnists also shared memories of Strauss.
