The length of a national anthem rendition is always interesting, even leading to over/under prop bets for the Super Bowl. Few performances come in as long as the over four-and-a-half-minute one Aretha Franklin delivered Thursday ahead of the Detroit Lions – Minnesota Vikings game, though, and that led to CBS referencing that in a time of possession graphic at the half:

It was the CBS reaction that got the most attention, though, and it’s certainly unusual to see a graphic like that pop up on a broadcast. Good for them for having some fun with it. The Vikings and Lions are currently tied at 10 in the third quarter, but don’t rule out Franklin and her clock-controlling offense down the stretch.
