ESPN’s College Gameday has been just about everywhere on the college football map, but on Sept. 3 the traveling studio show will stop by one gridiron cathedral it’s never visited before: Green Bay’s Lambeau Field.

ESPN announced Wednesday that Gameday will spend college football’s opening weekend at Lamebeau, where Wisconsin will take on LSU on September 3. Via an ESPN press release:

“Lambeau Field is hailed as a football shrine and is as special of a venue as the game of football has to offer,” said Lee Fitting, ESPN senior coordinating producer. “It is an honor to be able to stage College GameDay from Lambeau as we kick off this opening weekend filled with top-caliber games.”

This will be Gameday’s sixth time in Wisconsin but first visit to Lambeau, which has hosted three previous college football games but none since 1983.

Per ESPN, Green Bay will be the 74th city to host Gameday. Rece Davis, Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and David Pollack are all back for another season of the studio show, with Corso celebrating his 20th season of picking games using headgear.

A new-look crew of Steve Levy, Brian Griese and Todd McShay will call the Badgers-Tigers game for ESPN.

Among those most excited about Gameday’s trip to Lambeau is Howard, who spent one season with the Packers, leading the lead in punt-return touchdowns as Green Bay won the Super Bowl.
