The series-clinching Game 6 of the National League Championship Series drew big ratings for FS1. Fox officials are sad that there is not a Game 7 which would have likely drawn a big number, but they’ll take what’s given to them.
Last night’s NLCS Game 6 gave FS1 yet another overnight ratings record in the history of the young network and Senior Vice President of Programming, Research, and Content Strategy for Fox, Michael Mulvihill gleefully tweeted out the numbers:
That beats all college football games either on ABC, CBS, ESPN and even Fox! According to the Sports TV Ratings Twitter account, Ohio State-Penn State on ABC that was also airing at the same time received a 4.2 overnight rating.
And Mulvihill adds that as the game got deeper into the night, the numbers got better.
In Chicago, the numbers are even better. Jeff Nuich of Comcast SportsNet Chicago that the Windy City was watching on a Saturday night.
The final numbers be released later and they should be rather astonishing for FS1 and MLB. With the World Series airing on Fox, the network should see some really good ratings, probably the best in a very long time for the Fall Classic.
