Not often do you see legendary Boston Globe columnist Bob Ryan getting dirty in the social media streets, but clearly something Barstool Sports’ Mark Titus said about Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander struck a nerve.

On a recent episode of the Mostly Sports podcast, Titus called SGA “the worst MVP of my lifetime” in an epic rant that directly attacked the Thunder guard’s style of play.

“I have zero respect for SGA,” Titus began. “Zero. None. I f*cking hate watching him. I think he’s the worst MVP of my lifetime. I think it’s a disgusting watch. I think the Thunder are a blight on basketball. I think the way they play is disgusting. I think that there’s this idea that they are a team, like a bunch of young guys that come together and play great team defense. They don’t. They hack the sh*t out of guys.

“SGA has zero bag whatsoever,” Titus continued. “He pushes off on literally every basket he scores and then the refs for some reason don’t call it. And then the commentators do their best to carry water for him and they’re like, ‘Woo, he’s creating separation right there.’ We all saw it. He put his shoulder down and he pushed off. That’s the only move he has. He either gets fouled and goes to the free throw line or he hits the mid-range jumper that then Doris Burke and Richard Jefferson say, ‘Look at how good he is at getting to his spot and creating separation.’ Then they slow-mo it, and we see the same f*cking play over and over. We all know how he does it and they for some reason don’t call it. It drives me up a goddamn wall.”

Ryan didn’t mince words calling out Titus’ opinion.

“Who is this sh*thead?” the longtime Globe writer posted on X.

Clearly, Ryan doesn’t think Titus’ storied career as a walk-on at Ohio State makes him qualified to discuss SGA’s “bag.”
