Frank “The Tank” Fleming has undoubtedly been one of the strongest personalities employed at Barstool Sports since joining the company in 2017, sharing his pessimistic thoughts about his favorite sports on a near-daily basis for years now. But on Monday, Fleming went viral for an entirely different reason, reaching an incredibly impressive milestone in his weight loss journey.
Fleming’s weight loss journey has been a form of content in itself for Fleming, regularly posting videos of him walking with famous personalities in the sports and sports media space. Some of the most notable people that Fleming has been joined on these walks include New York Post baseball columnist Jon Heyman and newly announced TV broadcaster for the New Jersey Devils, Don La Greca, and The Athletic’s Dianna Russini.
In 2016, by Fleming’s own account, he weighed 520 pounds. But after 650 straight days of walks along with adjustments to his portions in his diet, Fleming reached a new milestone on Tuesday, weighing in under 300 pounds for the first time since his weight loss journey started.
Whether you love or hate Frank the Tank as a personality, it’s truly incredible to see the kind of growth that he has done to improve his health. And naturally, many in the sports media space made it a point to congratulate him for reaching this milestone.
“Keep it up bubs,” wrote former New England Patriots star turned NFL on Fox studio analyst Julian Edelman.
“He’s been there since Day 1,” wrote NFL on CBS game analyst J.J. Watt about Matthew Piper Jenks, the producer of Fleming’s “Frank Walks” series who has helped him with his workout routine. “He’s the mastermind behind it all, the motivator, the therapist, the life coach, the support system, etc. Frank has done the work and inspired so many, Jenks has been right there step by step along the way.”
F*ck yes Tank! What a moment,” wrote Barstool Sports’ Dan Katz, better known as “Big Cat”.
“Congrats to Tank!!!” wrote Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy.
