Kirk Minihane has had a pivotal last 12 months in both his life and career. The former WEEI radio host took a leave of absence last August due to mental health concerns after experiencing suicidal thoughts. That lead to him taking more time off in September.A couple months later, Minihane was ready to come back to WEEI, but WEEI didn’t seem ready for him. That resulted in Minihane leaving the station for Entercom, launching a show on Radio.com.After a few uneventful months, Minihane revealed that he was leaving Entercom last week. He wasn’t a free agent for long, because Dave Portnoy revealed Thursday night that Minihane would be joining Barstool Sports, which Minihane himself confirmed minutes later.https://twitter.com/stoolpresidente/status/1134269516865789957https://twitter.com/kirkmin/status/1134273760914235393This shouldn’t be much of a surprise. In between his WEEI and Entercom stints, Minihane was a co-host with Portnoy on Barstool Radio during this year’s Super Bowl week. Since then, Minihane has been tweeting and retweeting people defending Barstool against WEEI’s reporting about Barstool’s sponsorship of a Bruins rally towel given out before Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final.Minihane’s exact role at Barstool is still unknown, but he will be revealing more details during a Periscope broadcast Friday morning.
