ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio reports that the Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor main event is being delayed due to Pay-Per-View issues.
Paolantonio said he was told by a reliable source that they are in a “holding pattern” because cable systems around the country are crashing, specifically in California and Florida.
This is of course a highly, highly anticipated fight that it appears people on the east coast won’t be able to see until after midnight. What a mess.
As Paolantonio also noted, a similar delay happened when Mayweather fought Manny Pacquiao in 2015.
Update: Showtime has issued a statement on the delay.
