We may already have a leader in the clubhouse for the most heartwarming clip of 2025 thanks to ACC Network’s Taylor Tannebaum and Stanford big man Maxime Raynaud.
Stanford had just defeated Virginia Tech 70-59 in a cross-country conference game that was televised on ACC Network. Raynaud, a Second Team Pac-12 selection a year ago, led the way for the Cardinal with 19 points and 14 rebounds in the win.
As he was being interviewed by Tannebaum, the host noticed a young fan celebrating in the mostly emptied out stands behind him. She encouraged Raynaud to bring him down to the floor to see if he wanted to join in on the interview. What followed with Raynaud then proceeding to give an impromptu interview to young Isaac will give you all the feels.
Some kids go to a game and dream of getting on the jumbotron, maybe you’re lucky enough to get a t-shirt toss come your way. And if you hit a home run, maybe you can find your way to getting an autograph or a selfie.
Not many kids will go to a college basketball game with the idea that they’ll get to share a postgame interview with the star of the game live on national television. But that’s definitely a memory that this young Stanford fan will have forever. And credit to Tannebaum’s quick thinking and Raynaud’s congeniality for making it happen.
