Saying “tits” is all the rave today on national broadcasts.
Jason Kelce can’t stop saying it on ESPN, and his former offensive coordinator can’t stop saying it, either.
Former NFL coach Marty Mornhinweg is now a color commentator for his alma mater, Montana’s, games and has been doing so for a couple of seasons. He last worked in the NFL as a senior offensive assistant with Kelce and the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020.
And while we’d be remiss to speculate on a relationship between the now-retired All-Pro center and a longtime NFL offensive coach, they both have a propensity to talk about breasts with a microphone in front of them. Kelce spoke about his own, while Mornhinweg tried to make it a coaching point.
With Montana down 14-0 with a little over four minutes remaining in a Big Sky-FCS matchup, Mornhinweg made a note of “tits” when critiquing a throw made by Grizzlies quarterback Keali’i Ah Yat to wide receiver Junior Bergen which gained around five yards.
“He caught it…Now, Ah Yat’s got to get the ball, I would say, above the tits,” said Mornhinweg. “Why? So you can catch and run. The only time you throw low is when a defender is climbing all over his back, and typically, you see that down in the RedZone. Because if Bergen got that thing — got that ball — above the tits, he had a chance to catch-and-run, because he had some air on the defender.”
Mornhinweg’s partner in the booth, play-by-play voice Jay Kohn, asked if you could say “that” on TV.
He already did.
“Yeah, I think you can,” said Mornhinweg. “It’s a coaching point.”
With the Grizzlies winning 46-35, perhaps Mornhinweg should say “tits” on TV more often.
