Although the NFL Draft has come and gone and the new 2025/2026 NFL schedule has been released, fans of the Philadelphia Eagles are still looking fondly back on their Super Bowl victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

With the NFC still in a state of flux and looking like an easier division to win, the Eagles will have dreams of repeating and look to have an interesting schedule ahead of them. Whilst there are stern tests ahead, Eagles fans should be optimistic that their team can reach a third Super Bowl in the past four seasons.

The season will be shaped by its first four weeks

No game in the NFL is easy and that is certainly the case for Philly across the first four weeks of the new season.

Opening night will see the Eagles welcome bitter rivals Dallas and although the Eagles got the better of the Cowboys last season, Dak Prescott has a winning record against the Eagles and will certainly be in a mood to spoil the party.

Week 2 will see Jalen Hurts and company take on arguably their toughest road test of the season when they travel to Kansas City for a Super Bowl rematch. Having overthrown the Chiefs as the NFL’s top dogs, Arrowhead will be at fever pitch as the Chiefs try to restore parity.

Things don’t get any easier in weeks 3 and 4. First the LA Rams will head into town, before the Eagles then travel down to Florida to take on Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Although both matches present significant tests, the Eagles will be favored in each.

Seasons can’t be lost in the first four weeks, but the road to Super Bowl LX will certainly be defined by them.  The middle part of the season is where the Eagles will be classed as contenders or pretenders

After that tough opening slate, things on paper start to look easier. Weeks 5-8 will see the Eagles take on the New York Giants twice, Denver and Minnesota. But after the bye in Week 9 is where the next tests emerge.

A trip to Lambeau Field is never easy and the Green Bay Packers will be licking their lips ahead of a visit from the defending Super Bowl champions. A match for the ages then awaits in week 11 as the Detroit Lions will hope to lay down a serious marker when they travel to the Linc.

A tough four-week stretch of games will then conclude with a trip to Arlington where the Eagles take on the Cowboys for a second time before the Eagles then welcome the upstart Chicago Bears.

If Philadelphia emerges through that tricky period unscathed, the NFC’s number one seed could well be in play.

Tough finishing run will define the Eagles playoff destiny

The NFL schedule makers have been canny with how the Eagles finish the season.

By the time week 15 rolls around, Philadelphia and archrivals the Washington Commanders wouldn’t have played against each other, but they will face off twice in three weeks. Last year’s NFC title rivals will first meet in Washington before the Eagles then welcome the Commanders for the final week of the season.

Sandwiched between that Washington double header is another tricky road assignment against the Buffalo Bills. Plenty will be on the line in those final three weeks of the season and in order to cement their place as one of the NFC’s top dogs, you feel Philadelphia will need some momentum building results.

Who should Philadelphia be watching out for in the NFC?

We all know betting and the NFL is big business and many online bookmakers will offer up free NFL picks. When it comes to choosing who will represent the NFC in Super Bowl LX there looks to be several contenders.

Although the Eagles are likely to dominate those selections, the Eagles won’t have things their own way in a loaded NFC East.

Outside of the NFC East, Detroit, Green Bay, Minnesota and even Chicago could be dangerous propositions whilst over in the West, the Rams and the 49ers will be no pushovers.

Repeating as champions in the NFL is no easy thing and few teams can breathe in that rarified air.

However, the Eagles’ championship window still looks to be wide open and an offense that has Saquon Barkley, Jalen Hurts, DeVonta Smith, AJ Brown and a stud O-Line will be more than a match for anyone.

Will the road to Santa Clara and Super Bowl LX be tough? Undeniably. Can the Eagles get there with their 2025 NFL schedule? Absolutely.  The Eagles have a chance to cement their legacy and the 2025 schedule shouldn’t be anything to be afraid of.
