Former New England Patriots linebacker and ESPN analyst Tedy Bruschi is currently hospitalized in a Massachusetts hospital after suffering a stroke, according to Bruschi’s family. In a statement from Bruschi’s family via his Tedy Team Twitter account, they revealed that Tedy is “recovering well” and “recognized his warning signs immediately” which likely helped things from being worse.
Bruschi has been an advocate for stroke awareness since he suffered a stroke in 2005, just days after winning the Super Bowl. As a NFL player in his early 30s, Bruschi didn’t really think he would have a stroke at that age and being in shape but he did. Since then, Bruschi’s foundation has been known to inform people that anyone could get a stroke, that people who have had strokes can still live long and healthy lives, and to recognize the warning signs and symptoms of a stroke so someone can get help as soon as possible. Something that helped him in his own situation.
The NFL and sports media community came together to express their wishes and prayers to Tedy and his family.
