Good Morning Football will have a new home in more ways than one when it returns to the air.
HollywoodReporter.com reported Thursday that Fox-owned TV stations have picked up the new syndicated version of the show, which will debut Sept. 2.
The popular NFL Network show was already getting a geographic rebrand, relocating from New York to a new studio in Los Angeles. That version of the show is set to return some time this summer.
The new syndicated version of GMFB had been announced in March, with Sony Pictures Television handling distribution. The syndicated show, which will run Monday through Friday, will be separate from the NFL Network’s version.
It’s a nice start for the syndicated package. Fox owns and operates 29 stations nationwide, including in 14 of the top 15 markets. Now Sony will look to add partners in other markets.
Good Morning Football host Jamie Erdahl checked in on X/Twitter after the announcement.
Daren Stoltzfus, sports director for NBC affiliate WESH 2 in Orlando, echoed the sentiment of many fans, tweeting, “Whoa! Syndicated sports programming on local OTA tv? Sign me up.”
