Every tech executive you know is falling over themselves these days to brag about the power of generative AI. So far, the hype has far outweighed the results, at least from a creative standpoint, but that’s not going to stop them and their companies from pushing it as a tool you absolutely, positively have to use regardless of what you do for a living.
The way people try to hype AI often feels similar to how hucksters try to hype cryptocurrency and NFTs, promising life-changing results when the actual results fail to impress.
We’re not sure exactly what it says that Tom Brady always seems to find himself in the middle of these technological boondoggles, but the FTX investor and NFT startup backer is, unsurprisingly, a big fan of generative AI.
Brady was speaking at Cisco Live last week, presumably for a tidy sum, and he told the audience on hand that he was “using AI” as he prepares for his new role as an NFL analyst with Fox.
“I’m about to start my broadcasting career on Fox, and I’m using AI in the preparation for that so I can better understand the matchups, the plays, and different situations that come up in the game,” Brady reportedly said, via BizTech Magazine.
What does that mean exactly? Who knows, but we’ll let this comment from Matt Pinkerton speak for itself.
