Manti Te'o is officially joining the NFL Network for the 2024 season. Screen grab: ‘Good Morning Football’

Good Morning Football continues to shake-up its lineup.

According to Ryan Glasspiegel of Front Office Sports, eight-year NFL veteran Manti Te’o has landed a full-time role on NFL Network’s flagship show. Te’o will join Good Morning Football on a full-time basis, replacing Akbar Gbajabiamila, who last appeared on the show February 14, and has since been reported to have exited the show after just one season.

The former Notre Dame standout has regularly appeared on Good Morning Football in recurring guest roles since the show’s move to Los Angeles last year. He also appeared in the studio for Netflix’s NFL Christmas Day doubleheader last season alongside analysts Mina Kimes and Robert Griffin III.

Good Morning Football has undergone a litany of changes in recent years. Gbajabiamila replaced Jason McCourty last year, who had replaced Nate Burleson just two years prior. NFL Network mainstay Peter Schrager, who had hosted Good Morning Football since its inception, recently signed with ESPN. Original host Kay Adams was replaced by Jamie Erdahl in 2022.

Now, only one member of the original cast is remaining: Kyle Brandt.

Last year, the first in which the show originated from Los Angeles, NFL Network altered the format for Good Morning Football. Rather than a three-hour show, as the program had traditionally been, Good Morning Football reformatted to air a two-hour show for NFL Network, and then a separate two-hour show for syndication on local networks.
