A day after he made them, Orel Hershiser’s comments about Houston Astros hitters seemingly knowing what pitches the Los Angeles Dodgers were throwing were a topic of conversation around baseball. And for Los Angeles Angels announcers Wayne Randazzo and Mark Gubicza, it was a humorous topic to discuss.

During the third inning of Saturday’s game between the Angels and Toronto Blue Jays, Randazzo and Gubicza found themselves talking about the Dodgers. The announcers were praising the Dodgers for having baseball’s best record, despite a rash of pitching injuries and a subpar year from Mookie Betts. The conversation then shifted to Friday night, when the Astros routed the Dodgers 18-1.

“The Astros took ’em to school yesterday,” Randazzo said.

“I’m sure they really enjoy that, the fans there, when the Astros come into town,” Mark Gubicza added.

“Sounded like Orel Hershiser was having a good time, at least,” Randazzo remarked, prompting both announcers to laugh.

Something tells us that these will not be the last comments of their kind made around baseball.
