Cleveland Guardians radio play-by-play voice Jim Rosenhaus has long been an established name among baseball fans. And while his son, Nate Rosenhaus, didn’t decide to follow in his footsteps as a broadcaster, he too has quickly gained a following in the game of baseball. Perhaps enough of a following to be voted to the 2025 MLB All-Star Game.
Nate Rosenhaus, a visiting clubhouse assistant for the Cleveland Guardians, has quickly gained his own following for his unique look, sporting long hair and a beard, which got the attention of New York Yankees play-by-play broadcaster Michael Kay in past year’s broadcasts.
Rosenhaus may not fit the traditional idea of a “ball boy” at the age of 22. But clearly, he has become a fan favorite around baseball, which has gotten him in a position to be a finalist for the MLB All-Star Ball Crew ballot for the 2025 All-Star Game.
Rosenhaus joins Adam Crognale of the Philadelphia Phillies, Jacque Harrington of the Boston Red Sox, and Frankie Boyd of the Detroit Tigers as the four finalists for the two spots available on the MLB All-Star Ball Crew.
With a 50-percent chance to end up being voted into the 2025 MLB All-Star Game, Rosenhaus discussed what being voted into the festivities would mean in a recent conversation with Tim Stebbins of MLB.com.
“It would be awesome. It would be so cool,” Rosenhaus said. “It’s different to go do it when you’re a kid compared to when you’re an adult, and you can really feel the gravity of it and to just be a part of it — walk the red carpet, be on the field for it. What’s cool about this job, as opposed to some other jobs, is I get to be around the players 10 hours a day.
“So I get to see these guys from the moment they get into work and the moment they leave the park, and I get to see them and talk to them as people, and not robots or video game characters on a screen that you’re watching hit baseballs. Getting to see a lot of the players that I know now at, for some of these guys, the top point of their career thus far… It would be awesome to share that moment with them to a degree that I would be there.”
