A tip of the cap to legendary Reds broadcaster Marty Brennaman, who is retiring at the end of the 2019 season. Wednesday night was Brennaman’s final evening game as the voice of the Reds, and Thursday will be Brennaman’s final game overall, as he rides off into the sun before the team’s meaningless season-ending trip to Pittsburgh.

In the Reds booth on Wednesday night, Brennaman called the game with his son Thom (the Reds’ primary TV PBP broadcaster) on radio.

But with all due respect to Thom, the real highlight came when Brennaman (the elder) was joined by legendary Brewers broadcaster Bob Uecker (who no longer goes on road trips with the Brewers anymore) for 15 minutes of glory.

Al Michaels, who preceded Brennaman as the Reds’ radio broadcaster, also tweeted his congratulations to the outgoing radio voice of the Reds.

46 years in one role is one hell of an achievement. Congrats on a great career, Marty.
