The dreaded iPhone autocorrect gag can lead to many hilarious situations and ESPN’s Pedro Gomez knows this all too well. During the Rangers-Diamondbacks game, a dust storm knocked out power to Chase Field and the surrounding Phoenix area. In Arizona, dust storms are known as haboobs and Gomez tried to relay this in a tweet, but it all came out wrong thanks to autocorrect:
@Rangers and @Dbacks delayed in downtown Phoenix because a baboon went through town and overloaded the grid, knocking some lights out.

And Gomez quickly realized his mistake:
Haboob. Damn autocorrect.

But by that time, it was too late. The Diamondbacks and others jumped all over it:
Those crazy Arizona baboons…

We'll have to see if we have enough bananas in the budget.

Perhaps the @Suns and @SunsGorilla next door could spare some

The Phoenix Suns got into the act:

The Phoenix Zoo also responded:
Can confirm our baboons are safe and accounted for. #haboob https://t.co/Y2SgaYZDoA

Of course it led to this later in the game as the Diamondbacks trailed in the 9th inning:
To the bottom of the 9th. Desperate times call for desperate measures. #RallyBaboon pic.twitter.com/oGaMiLRZAv

Gomez owned the tweet and luckily for prosperity, he didn’t delete it:
I hadn’t noticed. I’m laughing out loud. That might be my all time best autocorrect.

Darren, I have to leave it up. Just too funny without trying to be.

Goodnight all and thank you for a very positive experience on Twitter, not always easy.
— The Pedro Gomez Foundation (@PGFoundation_) July 31, 2018
Gomez may not have ended all of the negativity on Twitter, but it was nice that everyone could get a laugh at least for one night.
