Earlier this month, former LSU coach Les Miles who’s been known for making some crazy decisions on the field, said equivocally he wouldn’t be doing television this season. He apparently wanted to keep his options open in case there was a coaching vacancy. However, the Mad Hatter has pulled a 180 and decided that he will be on TV this season as an analyst.
Miles has told the Baton Rouge Advocate that he’ll be on the season premiere of SEC Nation, SEC Network’s version of College GameDay. In fact, ESPN made the announcement when it unveiled that SEC Nation would head to Arlington, TX for its first show of the season. Miles will join new host Laura Rutledge (taking over for Maria Taylor) and analysts Paul Finebaum, Tim Tebow and Marcus Spears.
SEC Nation is not the only place you’ll see Miles. He said he’s deciding on where he’s going to appear this season. In fact, it sounds like Miles will be bouncing around to talk football on television.
“I’m going to be in media and in a number of different places,” he said, “and I’m going to have a blast.”

And asked if he’s open to call LSU games, Miles didn’t rule it out.
“I don’t think there’s any question,” he said. “Heck, I think I’m going to root for every guy I recruited. That’s everybody, minus a few linebackers. I’d be honest and fair in evaluation, but I’d also be purposefully enjoying watching those Tigers.”
Miles says he hopes to land a coaching gig after this season. But in the interim, he’ll be in the studio and the broadcast booth in 2017 maintaining a high profile in case a school decides to call to fill a vacancy.
