The ManningCast is so popular because it’s able to mix the wealth of football knowledge that Peyton and Eli Manning have with their unique brand of humor. And after watching the brothers’ telecast from the Week 5 Monday Night Football game between the New Orleans Saints and Kansas City Chiefs, it’s easy to see where they get both from – their father Archie Manning.
It was fitting for the Manning family patriarch to show up for the game given he’s one of the biggest legends in Saints franchise history and one of the few shining lights from the early days of the franchise. Although the fourth quarter started with the game hanging in the balance, an injury to Saints QB Derek Carr and wizardry of Patrick Mahomes made the outcome fairly certain.
So if you wanted to flip to the ManningCast for some entertainment, you found it with Archie Manning making a circumcision joke about Eli at his birth. They should hang Eli’s reaction face in the Louvre after his father dropped that joke on national television.
“Cooper was 12 pounds 3 oz at birth, I was 12 pounds 1 oz, Eli was only 10”
“they weighed him after he was circumcised”
“that’s the nicest thing you’ve ever said about me”
based on Eli Manning’s expression in this clip, this is not the 1st time Archie Manning has said this lol https://t.co/M5Z9IlTq3r pic.twitter.com/FcvJ02HQ8r

If that wasn’t enough, we also had Archie attempt to ground his adult sons on national television after both were sparring with one another. Peyton tried to get one over on Eli by showing an old clip of the younger brother punching a giant cardboard cutout of his huge forehead. Eli then got back at Peyton with a montage of some of his more questionable table manners. It ended with Archie sending both Mannings to their proverbial rooms.

If Archie Manning is really in the mood to ground someone, maybe he should also look at Saints head coach Dennis Allen, who has led his former team to three straight losses after one of the most dominant starts to a season in recent NFL history.
