CBS has officially revealed its NFL broadcast booths for the upcoming season.
Shortly after news broke that former CBS NFL game analyst Tiki Barber was departing the network for WFAN radio coverage of the New York Giants, CBS revealed its full lineup of NFL talent.
Highlighting the changes, of course, is J.J. Watt, who will move from The NFL Today studio to a full-time game analyst role alongside play-by-play announcer Ian Eagle and sideline reporter Evan Washburn on the network’s No. 2 broadcast team. As was reported earlier this year, Watt replaces Charles Davis in that role.
Now we know Davis will slide into Barber’s former spot alongside play-by-play man Andrew Catalon and analyst Jason McCourty before becoming CBS’s lead college football analyst next season.
The remainder of the NFL on CBS lineup remains the same. Jim Nantz, Tony Romo, and Tracy Wolfson remain the top team. Kevin Harlan, Trent Green, and Melanie Collins continue to work together. And Spero Dedes, Adam Archuleta, Aditi Kinkhabwala come back for another year, as do Tom McCarthy and Ross Tucker.
The network’s pregame show, The NFL Today, will also look the same, minus Watt, who was a part-time analyst last season. Longtime host James Brown, who recently signed a contract extension with the network, will return alongside studio analysts Bill Cowher, Nate Burleson, and Matt Ryan. Last season marked the first year the new-look studio crew worked together after CBS opted to replace Boomer Esiason and Phil Simms.
