Scott Hanson, the voice of NFL Red Zone, was recently a witness to not only a car crash but also a strange scene after it, with someone trying to make a TikTok video in the aftermath of the crash.
In a video that went viral on Tuesday, someone is approaching an overturned car. The person continued walking up to the car which, by this point, had nobody inside. He then briefly ducked into the car to grab a watermelon which had been smashed. As the person backs out of the car with part of the watermelon in hand, Hanson’s familiar voice can be heard asking an obvious question. “Hey dude. What are you doing?”
The video then shows Hanson, recording the person who took the watermelon.
X user @IcyVert (who was not the person who took the original video) shared the video with the caption, “BRO IS THAT SCOTT HANSON?!”
He then followed up, tagging Hanson and asking if he was OK.
Hanson confirmed that he was fine and actually wasn’t part of the accident.
“Yes, I am fine,” he said. “I was a witness – I wasn’t in either car. Terrible crash. I checked on the survivors and then saw that jack-wagon trying to exploit the situation for his social media. I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised, but I was/am. Disheartening.”
He responded to another user asking, “Was that you filming that dude with the watermelon at the crash scene?”
“Yes,” Hanson said. “2 ppl could’ve died, & that clown was excited about his Tik Tok. I couldn’t believe it. You know his name/identity? He jetted when the police were pulling up. I video’d him in case what he was doing was illegal – (tampering with the scene of a crime?). So disappointing.”
Responding to another message, Hanson noted that, as bad as the crash scene might have looked, no serious injuries were apparent.
“I had checked on both drivers to make sure they were ok,” he said. “Outside of shock, perhaps.”
