He’s been nicknamed “Rapping Roberto” by the New York Daily News’ Bob Raissman and there have been times when Bob Costas actually tried to show that he can rap. Back in 2013, Costas dropped some Ludacris lyrics on MLB Network. But we really haven’t heard him do it in a while. That is until 2017.
During a pregame segment at the NHL Winter Classic, Costas was introducing Nelly as part of the entertainment at Busch Stadium. He was bringing up Nelly’s most famous song, “It’s Getting Hot in Herre,” and rather than say the line “Let’s take off all our clothes,” Costas decided to freestyle to fit the occasion. You can see where we’re headed and it’s not good.
“Pads.” Thankfully, there are geniuses on the internet who can do a mashup and SBNation NHL came in just in time to rescue the whole thing.
Bob freestylin’. It can only happen at the Winter Classic.
