Apple and Amazon have been bitter enemies for a while. Those who have Apple TV have noticed that the Amazon Video app is not available on the set top device. It appears that omission will be ending soon as the two companies may have buried the hatchet. Recode is reporting that the two companies are close to an agreement to bring Amazon Video to Apple TV by this summer and that would be just in time for the streaming of Thursday Night Football in September.

The pickup of Amazon Video would be huge for Apple TV and as mentioned, would open up viewers to see Thursday Night Football which Amazon picked up earlier this year.
Apple and Amazon have been feuding for a while. Back in 2015, Amazon stopped selling Apple TV devices. But just recently, an Amazon shopping app became available on Apple TV, but video was not part of it.
Recode says it’s not known how the two sides came together, but it’s likely that the truce came from the top through the two companies’ CEO’s, Jeff Bezos from Amazon and Tim Cook of Apple.
For owners of the Apple TV box, it comes at a good time and it will allow more people to see ten Thursday Night Football games through the set top device.
