While they may have missed out in the Jason Kelce TV sweepstakes, Amazon is looking to remain a part of the Kelce family business.
According to Ryan Glasspiegel of the New York Post, Jason and Travis Kelce are in “serious talks” for the E-commerce giant’s Wondery platform to become the new home of their New Heights podcast. A deal has yet to be finalized, with the All-Pro brothers also in talks to keep their show with its current home, Wave Sports + Entertainment.
Wherever New Heights winds up, it will surely come at a hefty price. In February, Bloomberg reported that a deal for the popular weekly podcast could reach eight figures.
First launched in 2022, New Heights has stood out in the crowded athlete-hosted podcast field thanks to Jason and Travis’ unique personalities and Hall of Fame on-field resumes. The podcast first saw a boost when the then-Philadelphia Eagles center and Kansas City Chiefs tight end became the first brothers to face each other in a Super Bowl in 2023, and was then launched into another stratosphere when Travis began dating pop music megastar Taylor Swift last year.
Each episode of New Heights — which is available in both audio and video formats — contains multiple on-screen sponsors and has often had a habit of going viral. Just this week, Jason made headlines when he stated his belief that the legendary triple crown-winning horse Secretariat was on steroids, which he proceeded to double down on.
Since announcing his retirement following 13 seasons with the Eagles at the end of the 2023 NFL season, Jason’s career as a media figure has begun to come into focus. Last month, it was announced that the six-time All-Pro center will join ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown pregame show, with Amazon, NBC and CBS having also reportedly made pitches for his services.
