The internet has been gifted a glorious meme today thanks to one cameraperson at Tuesday night’s Coldplay concert in Boston.
For the uninitiated, social media sleuths quickly revealed that Astronomer CEO Andy Byron was caught red-handed embracing a woman who was most certainly not his wife as Coldplay’s Chris Martin prepared to serenade the crowd with “Yellow” (or a song to that effect). To make matters worse, Byron was cozied up with his company’s HR executive, Kristin Cabot. Watch for yourself below:

The video, which has racked up nearly 50 million views on X alone, can safely be described as uber-mega viral. As such, the sports media world had plenty to say about it.
Haven’t seen something as white-hot viral as that video of the CEO cheating on his wife at a Coldplay concert in a while. Very unfortunate for them, but kind of nice for us? Almost reminiscent of pre-whateverthefuckthisis internet. Unless they launch a podcast.

ESPN star Mina Kimes invoked a Bill Simmons-ism in her reaction to the ordeal.

Bomani Jones literally could not stop talking about it, as evidenced by his timeline on Thursday. Jones clocked in at eight separate posts about the affair!

the irony of the coldplay thing is those two wound up on the screen because they looked SO happy. they were undone by the vibes.

It’s nice to finally have someone else’s pain bring the rest of us together for once. What a day for the internet!
