Gear heads, prepare to watch NASCAR like you never have before.
TNT Sports announced Thursday that the Max streaming service is launching a brand-new “NASCAR Driver Cam” experience that will allow fans to access in-car camera views for every driver during every Cup Series race this season. Better yet, each feed will include synced audio from the scanner team radios along with ambient car noise. The feature will start this Sunday at the Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray.
Not only will feeds for every driver be available, but fans will also have access to several multiview options on Max. Per the announcement, “Fans will be able to choose between individual Driver Cams or two pre-set multiview stream options featuring four drivers each, chosen based on the most compelling matchups and storylines each week.” There will also be a “Fan Selected” multiview featuring drivers voted on by the fans each week.
Each feed will be equipped with integrated telemetry data such as speed and RPM, along with standard graphics like stage, lap number, and position that viewers would expect on any other NASCAR telecast.
Those watching can pause or rewind the individual feeds, meaning that fans can go back and check out team audio from crashes or other big moves that happen during a race. Additionally, replays of each individual driver stream will be available after each event.
No doubt, this is one way to super-serve your core fanbase if you’re NASCAR.
TNT Sports begins the first year of a seven-year media rights deal with the racing circuit this summer. The network will air the inaugural NASCAR In-Season Tournament which includes five races beginning in Atlanta and ending in Indianapolis.
