Whether you love Colin Cowherd or hate him, there’s no questioning his accomplishments in the radio industry.
And later this year, the current Fox Sports star and former ESPN host will be recognized for his stellar career, with Cowherd having been named to the Radio Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025.
The Herd host marks the lone sports representative in this year’s class, which consists of 10 inductees. According to the Hall of Fame’s website, six of the inductees were determined by a voting panel of 900 industry professionals, while four inductees were voted on by the Radio Hall of Fame 2025 Nominating Committee.
The entirety of the 2025 Radio Hall of Fame class includes:
- Alice Cooper
- Bob & Sheri
- Colin Cowherd
- DeDe McGuire
- Mike McVay
- Martha Quinn
- Mojo in the Morning
- Scott Simon
- Shelley Stewart
- Julie Talbott
The 61-year-old Cowherd first began his broadcasting career as the play-by-play voice for the San Diego Padres’ Triple-A affiliate Las Vegas Stars before being named the sports director at NBC affiliate KVBC in Las Vegas. Following stints in Tampa and Portland, he joined ESPN Radio in 2004 when his daily radio show, The Herd, took over the network’s late-morning timeslot, which was previously occupied by Tony Kornheiser.
Cowherd would prove to be one of ESPN Radio’s biggest stars, garnering a following thanks to his strong takes and fun analogies, often connecting sports talk topics to real world stories and subjects. In addition to his radio duties, the Grayland, Washington, native also hosted ESPN’s SportsNation TV program from 2009-2012.
In 2015, Cowherd made the jump to Fox Sports amid the network’s push to challenge ESPN with the launch of FS1. While many talents who were hired at the time have since departed the network, Cowherd has remained a constant presence for more than a decade now, re-signing on a three-year deal earlier this year despite an apparent push from ESPN.
As a part of his new contract, The Volume founder also moved his operations from Los Angeles to Chicago. As fate would have it, that means he won’t have to travel far for his Hall of Fame induction, which will take place at the the Swissotel Hotel in Chicago on Thursday, Oct. 30.
