One of the more unique genre-specific bundles yet is about to hit the market.
Comcast announced Wednesday that it has launched a new product called World Soccer Ticket, an all-in-one bundle that will give users access to nearly every major club and international soccer competition for one monthly price on one single platform. The package, which will include nearly 60 channels and Peacock, will cost $85 per month and include Premier League, UEFA Champions League, La Liga, Liga MX, CONCACAF Champions Cup, NWSL, and more.
The base plan will include ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, Telemundo, Univision, UniMás, ESPN, FS1, ESPN Deportes, Fox Deportes, Universo, and TUDN. Presumably, some of the advertised competitions, like the UEFA Champions League, will only be available in Spanish unless a user opts to purchase the Paramount+ add-on for English-language coverage of those matches. However, if the add-on is purchased, users will be able to find those matches seamlessly all within the same World Soccer Ticket platform. The same will apply for other offered add-ons like MLS Season Pass or ESPN+.
“Figuring out where to watch your favorite team or match is often a painful game of chance. Now, with World Soccer Ticket, there’s no better way to watch the beautiful game than with Xfinity,” Jon Gieselman, Comcast’s Chief Growth Officer, Connectivity & Platforms, said in a press release. “It’s easy, we did the work for our customers and pulled together the most coveted leagues and tournaments – from Premier League, La Liga and Champions League to the World Cup – and put them in one place. We added some magic to the experience with innovations like Multiview, 4K and Sports Zone all easily accessible with one simple click or voice command.”
Users that subscribe to World Soccer Ticket will also receive access to non-soccer programming on the available channels, which will include the major broadcast networks, sports cable channels, and cable news networks.
Essentially, Comcast is providing customers another type of “skinny bundle” geared specifically towards soccer fans. Expect more products such as this to crop up as we enter “The Great Re-bundling.”
