Barstool Sports parent Chernin Group is reportedly close to selling its half of Otter Media, which could lead to them investing more time and resources in the plans to expand Barstool's operations.
The league's investors include Peter Thiel and The Chernin Group, and a TV deal with CBS has already been worked out.
The new funding values Barstool at around $100 million overall. This latest $15 million investment will be used for all sorts of expansions, from hiring more staff to boosting their boxing promotion and maybe launching branded alcohol or bars.
"It won’t be, we’re not going to put shit behind a paywall, but it’ll be new stuff. (The Chernin Group) wants us to do it, so it’s very important to the company, blah blah blah."
