Emerging streaming services Sony PlayStation Vue and Hulu Live have added more local CBS stations to the fold meaning more smaller markets will have access to the network. According to FierceCable, PlayStation Vue has brought in seven CBS stations while Hulu Live has signed an additional 12 stations. Sony claims that it has now half of the CBS stations in half of the country. Hulu claims it has some 200 local stations for its streaming service.
For PlayStation Vue, the following markets have been added: Greensboro, NC, Houston, New Orleans, Orlando, San Antonio, Tampa and Washington, D.C. Overall, PlayStation Vue has deals with 106 CBS stations.

The streaming services realize that in addition to having various cable channels, they have to add the four major networks as well in ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC.
And last week, DirecTV Now made a deal with CBS that completes its roster of broadcast networks. The Tiffany Network was not in any rush to make a deal with DirecTV Now waiting to see how successful the service was with subscribers.
The emerging streaming services are picking up people, but not as fast as traditional pay TV is shedding them.
However, with CBS affiliates signing up with two of the major streaming services, this might help those on the fence who are considering cutting the cord. And with more local stations jumping on board the local stations, the streaming services gain a bit more leverage with cord cutters.
