One of the great shining stars in sports media has left this world far too soon. I’m not talking about a person, of course, I’m talking about Bob Ley’s beard. Yes, one of the great displays of facial hair in the history of televised sports is no longer with us.
Ley even marked the occasion with this tweet paying homage to his beard’s own parody Twitter account:
May 27th, full and immaculate facial hair.
May 28th, clean shaven.
FIFA in crisis, and now Bob Ley’s beard gone, there’s only so much we can handle at one time!
