The Golden State Valkyries and Atlanta Dream were deadlocked at 75-75 in the final minute of their game Tuesday night when play was interrupted by a lime green sex toy thrown on the court.
As the clock struck 1:00 in the fourth quarter of the WNBA contest, a bright green item was seen being thrown onto the Gateway Center Arena floor. Play continued as Golden State attempted to take a lead. When the ball went out of bounds following an errant shot, referees blew their whistles to stop the game while the object was investigated.
A police officer was seen inspecting the object before cameras revealed it to quite clearly be a lime green dildo. The officer collected the sex toy and removed it from the court so play could resume.
The Valkyries eventually won the game, 77-75.
We have to admit, it was a bold move by the cameras to zoom in on the dildo and for the production team to put that on the air then, though they seemed to realize pretty quickly that they probably shouldn’t do that. Perhaps no one was more surprised than the commentator, who realized what it was in real-time as she was discussing it.
“Nobody’s picked the object up yet, and – oh my gosh.”
Here’s the Golden State reaction from Jacob Tobey and Morgan Ragan.

To be fair, it’s not the first time a flying dildo has interrupted a major sporting event or broadcast.
