Friday night’s WNBA 3-point contest will feature the league’s biggest star, Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark.
ESPN’s Michael Voepel reported on Clark’s involvement and also noted that her competitors will include New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu and last year’s champion, Allisha Gray of the Atlanta Dream.
“Indiana Fever guard and All-Star team captain Caitlin Clark will participate in her first 3-point contest as a pro Friday as part of WNBA All-Star Weekend, the league announced Tuesday,” Voepel reported. “She will be joined by the New York Liberty’s Sabrina Ionescu, the Washington Mystics’ Sonia Citron, the Los Angeles Sparks’ Kelsey Plum and the Atlanta Dream’s Allisha Gray, the defending champion of the event.”
This is Clark’s second time as an All-Star. In 2024, she notably did not participate in the 3-point shootout.
The 2025 All-Star Game and festivities will be at Clark’s home arena, Indianapolis’ Gainbridge Fieldhouse. As Voepel detailed, that had a lot to do with Clark not doing the 3-point contest in 2024.
“Clark’s management team said earlier this year when she turned down competing in some fashion at NBA All-Star Weekend that the young star wanted her first 3-point contest to be in Indianapolis at the WNBA event,” Voepel said.
Clark, who remains the league’s biggest draw, has battled injuries throughout the 2025 season, as she had played in only 12 of Indiana’s 21 games, heading into Tuesday’s matchup against the Connecticut Sun. With that, her shooting numbers have suffered. In those 12 games, she’s shot 28.9% (28-for-97) on three-pointers. During her rookie season in 2024, Clark was 34.4% (122-for-355) from three-point range.
The 3-point contest will be held on Friday night and will air at ESPN at 8 p.m. ET. The All-Star Game itself will be played on Saturday night at 8:30 p.m. ET and will air on ABC.
