I’ve never been to Fresno, California, but I can’t imagine it being such a terrible place to visit. It’s the largest city situated in the Central Valley of California and has over 80% of possible sunshine throughout the year. That sounds pretty good, right?

Fresno State received a letter of apology Tuesday from Hawaii’s play-by-play announcer for a comment he made at the end of the TV broadcast of the Fresno State-Hawaii football game.
Robert Kekaula, Hawaii’s play-by-play voice since 2011, concluded the Saturday night broadcast by saying “Good night from the armpit of America.”
The game, which Fresno State won 28-21, was shown on TV via Oceanic Sports in Hawaii and on the internet via the Mountain West Network.
Kekaula apparently made the quip while joking with his statistician and perhaps didn’t realize that he was still on the air. He offered an in-depth apology to Fresno State and the city of Fresno for his remarks after the Bulldogs athletic director contacted Oceanic Sports, which televised the game in the Aloha State.
Although, in reality, I suppose you could understand where Kekaula was coming from. When you live and work in Hawaii, it’d be easy to think of anywhere-not-Hawaii as an unflattering and odious body part.
