Now that December’s here, people everywhere are shaving off their Movember moustaches. Sportsnet reporter Gene Principe did it live on the air on Monday night, taking an electric razor to his pushbroom while teeing up a game between the Edmonton Oilers and Arizona Coyotes.
Update, July 2021: This video has been removed.
Principe is no stranger to on-air hi-jinx. He’s done everything from wearing a hot dog costume to performing ventriloquism on-camera, and has blogs, message boards and Twitter accounts dedicated to his frequent use of puns.
This clip is certainly one he’ll be ‘stache-ing in his career highlight reel. We definitely think it makes the cut and it’s bound to generate a lot of buzz.
Never change, Gene.
