Earlier this month, we learned of the shocking news of Greg Anthony’s arrest in a Washington, D.C. prostitution sting that led to his indefinite suspension from CBS and Turner.
Now we are learning some of the details from the court documents about what transpired before the former NBA player was arrested on January 16. He was in Washington, D.C. to call the Michigan State-Maryland game for CBS .
According to the Washington Post, Anthony responded to an escort ad that was placed on a website by an undercover police officer.
The undercover officer arrived at Anthony’s room in the Doubletree Hotel and told him it would cost $80 for sex. The conversation as transcribed by the court documents has Anthony and the officer discussing what type of sex he wanted. And after the officer asked “You want me to dress up?” Anthony said, “Oh yeah,” and that’s when the officer signaled for the arrest team to come in to place him in handcuffs and charged.
Anthony is charged with misdemeanor solicitation for prostitution and his court date is scheduled for February 2.
Both CBS and Turner have indefinitely suspended Anthony with both networks saying he won’t work for their networks for the rest of the season.
If convicted, Anthony could spend as many as 180 days in jail.
