Antonio Brown rumored to be latest Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver on Dancing With The Stars

The Pittsburgh Steelers have a storied history in the NFL. They also have a storied history on Dancing With The Stars.

Former Steelers WR Hines Ward won the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy during Season 12 in 2011. Now, there’s speculation that another Steelers wideout will try to keep the NFL franchise’s championship streak intact on the dance floor.

While the contestants won’t be officially announced until March 8, there’s mounting speculation that Antonio Brown will be among them. Brown recently started following the official Dancing With The Stars Twitterfeed as well as that of DWTS dancer Sharna Burgess. That set off rumors and discussions locally and nationally about the NFLers participation.

NFL players has faired well on Dancing With The Stars, most notably Ward, Emmitt Smith and Donald Driver, all of whom won their respective seasons. Warren Sapp also made a good run in his season, finishing second.

If Brown is dancing with Burgess, it’ll be her second spin on the dance floor with an NFL player. She partnered with Keyshawn Johnson in 2013, though they were the first couple eliminated that season.

Brown has played his entire six-year pro career with Pittsburgh, where he’s been named AFC Offensive Player of the Year (2014) and a four-time Pro Bowler. He was the first NFL player to record back to back seasons with at least 125 receptions and is one of only two players with 5,000+ receiving yards in a 3-year period.

Whether or not Brown will break out the Bennie Biggle Wiggle on the show remains to be seen.
