College football fans will have to get used to seeing some familiar ESPN broadcast faces in different roles during the upcoming season.
Samantha Ponder joins the ABC Saturday Night Football telecast as a reporter. She will also continue her role as a contributor for College GameDay and College Football Live.
Play-by-play commentator Joe Tessitore moves to the ESPN College Football Primetime game where he’ll work with analyst Todd Blackledge and reporter Holly Rowe. Tessitore has been doing PBP for Thursday night games and serving as host of SEC Nation on SEC Network.
Tessitore will be replacing Brad Nessler, whose contract was reportedly not renewed. Previously, Clay Travis had reported Nessler would be moving to CBS Sports. Levy’s move to college football was first reported by The Big Lead.
Steve Levy And Brian Griese will reform as a broadcasting duo for college football games on ABC and ESPN for Saturday afternoons. Levy will also continue to host SportsCenter.
ESPN said that they will reveal other college football announcing roles and teams in the upcoming weeks.
