Dabo Swinney ‘finally figured out’ how to get ‘the YouTube TV’

Bless Dabo Swinney. The man does not take to new ways of doing things easily.

Clemson Tigers fans have grown a little frustrated with what that means on the football front, given Swinney’s disdain for the transfer portal and pushback on fair player compensation over the years.

However, the head coach’s disinterest in modernity can also be charming, like on Tuesday when he explained to reporters how he “finally figured out” how to install YouTube TV on his phone.

“I am a big YouTube TV guy now,” the Clemson coach told reporters. “I finally figured out how to get that frickin’ app on my phone. It’s like an act of Congress. You gotta have, like, birth certificates and all kind of stuff to get some of these things. I don’t know all these codes, from… ‘Who’s your provider?’ I mean, it’s some crazy stuff on there.”

College football head coaches, they’re just like us. Or at the very least, they’re just like our parents.

Now that Dabo has his streaming subscription worked out, it made his bye week a whole lot more enjoyable.

“I got the YouTube TV and, man, it was awesome,” he continued. “I had my phone going. I had my iPad going with four screen. And I had the TV going… We had a lot of teams playing that we’re gonna play. And so, that’s really what I did all day. I just watched ball all day and it was awesome.”

If the people at YouTube TV aren’t immediately licensing this for a new ad, we don’t know what to tell them.
