Jon “Stugotz” Weiner has had enough of Georgia head coach Kirby Smart’s motivational tactics.
The radio host ranted Monday on The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz, calling out Smart’s postgame comments on ESPN after the No. 5 Bulldogs beat No. 1 Texas, 30-15, Saturday.
“Nobody gave us a chance,” Smart said. “Your whole network doubted us. Nobody believed us. And then they tried to rob us with calls, in this place.”
Smart played the victim/underdog card coaches often use to motivate their teams. But Stugotz wasn’t buying the coach’s pitch.
“It’s a bunch of B.S., no one forgot about Kirby Smart,” Weiner said. “No one forgot about Georgia. You can’t do the disrespect thing after you’ve won two out of the last three national championships. You just can’t do it. You can’t come out and say, ‘No one respects us, everyone forgot about us.’ No one forgot about Georgia and everyone respects Georgia. Everyone knows how good they are, and everyone knows they’ve won two of the last three national championships.
“Kirby Smart, enough, please. He’s just saying s***. I mean seriously. He’s just saying stuff to get his team riled up. I’m tired of Kirby Smart.”
Everyone in the studio got a big laugh out of Stugotz’s rant, especially when he admitted he’d picked Texas to win by double digits.
“But what is Kirby Smart that he’s got to prove something to me?” Weiner said. “I didn’t respect you? You care that Stugotz didn’t respect you?
“I didn’t forget about you. I have plenty of respect for you, please.”
