While The Paul Finebaum Show frequently features conversations about the Mississippi State and Georgia Bulldogs, dogs were front and center on Tuesday for an entirely different reason.
Finebaum took a call from Tim, a caller from Arkansas. But when the conversation began, Tim’s voice was not what Finebaum heard. Instead, Tim’s dog was heard barking for several seconds before Finebaum asked, “Are we calling a dog kennel here, or Tim?”
Tim eventually joined the conversation but the dog would not stop barking.
“Tim, have you ever fed this dog?” asked Finebaum. “It’s not a bad idea.”
While Tim tried to explain the situation, the barking persisted.
“By the way, this dog would be a perfect Finebaum caller, as much as it barks,” Finebaum joked.
“I promise you a dog biscuit will cure this problem,” Finebaum added later. “I’ve had a dog for a long time. Put something in their mouth. They will be quiet. Either a hand or a biscuit. Or a foot.”
Tim then asked Finebaum to “Say hello to Valerie,” which brought the segment to an end.
Finebaum sent the show to commercial, giving Tim a chance to get things in order.
To be fair, Tim’s dog was no less informed, and significantly more entertaining, than a lot of other callers.
