The same week that the company released a second This is SportsCenter ad featuring the Vegas Golden Knights, ESPN has released a pair of ads featuring Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics.
The first ad is called Meeting Lineup and features Tatum, UC Irvine mascot Peter the Anteater, and SportsCenter anchors Nicole Briscoe, Steve Levy (again), and Gary Striewski.
The second ad, Security Badge, features North Carolina mascot Rameses, Tatum, Striewski, Briscoe, and Peter the Anteater along with an intro from Scott Van Pelt.
I’m a sucker for This is SportsCenter ads that feature mascots (like January’s ad starring Delta State’s Fighting Okra), so these pair get extra credit for including Peter and Rameses.
The Meeting Lineup ad will debut on Wednesday, October 25 during ESPN’s broadcast of Celtics-Knicks, while Security Badge debuts on Friday, October 27 during the Heat-Celtics broadcast, also on ESPN.
The This is SportsCenter ad campaign returned earlier this year. In addition to the Fighting Okra ad linked above, released ads include a pair with USWNT stars Megan Rapinoe, Becky Sauerbrunn, and Sophia Smith, one with Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, and two with Vegas Golden Knights stars Jack Eichel and Jonathan Marchessault.
ESPN previously announced that UFC star Brandon Moreno and golfer Jon Rahm would also star in upcoming This is SportsCenter ads.
