Colin Cowherd incorrectly insists Titans beat Bears in Week 1

The Chicago Bears and rookie quarterback Caleb Williams defeated the Tennessee Titans to get their season started on the right foot. But if you weren’t tuned into the Week 1 results and happened to watch The Herd with Colin Cowherd on Wednesday, you would assume the opposite happened.

On Wednesday’s episode, Cowherd discussed the upcoming betting lines in Week 2, which includes the Jets being four-point favorites over the Titans. Cowherd argued that the Jets should be six or seven-point favorites over the Titans, but aren’t because the Titans “won” in Week 1 over the Bears when they shouldn’t have.

“I think the one team in the league that won and had no business winning was Tennessee,” said Cowherd, as co-host Jason McIntyre looked on confused. “So the line should be six-to-seven and it’s four because they won. So Tennessee really lost but gets a W. The Jets with real talent are humiliated …”

McIntyre then finally chimed in, asking Cowherd if he actually meant the inverse of what he said. The inverse of what Cowherd said was actually true considering the Titans looked great throughout much of their Week 1 game, only to choke the game away in the second half to the Bears.

“You mean the inverse? Tennessee, you think won but actually lost the game,” said McIntyre.

Cowherd then further insisted that Tennessee won the game.

“Yeah, yeah, yeah. But they won the game. So they probably feel much better about themselves,” Cowherd said of the Titans.

Cowherd’s entire monologue here is a bit hard to understand completely. But it sure seems like he believes that the Titans should have lost but won, when the opposite is actually true in reality.

Cowherd even picked the Titans to cover the spread in Week 1 in his Blazin’ 5 spread picks last week. So you would think that he would have a good grasp of whether or not the Titans had won this game. But clearly, Cowherd is a bit confused about the Titans early on in the season.
