With the NFL on Fox crew in town to cover Super Bowl LIX, New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell took the opportunity to honor one of Louisiana’s favorite sons, Terry Bradshaw.
Wednesday was officially Terry Bradshaw Day in New Orleans. He was honored with a ceremony at New Orleans’ Tulane University.

Bradshaw was honored with a ceremony at Tulane University in New Orleans.
“I love this state. I never wanted to leave it,” Bradshaw said, H/T Rob Masson, Fox 8. “But, I ended up doing it because I had to travel so much. Love Louisiana, love New Orleans. First Super Bowl here 50 years ago. You go back and re-live that. This is where it all started for me. This is where you build your reputation.”
Before his Hall of Fame career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Bradshaw played college football at Louisiana Tech University. That came on the heels of a decorated high school career at Woodlawn High School in Shreveport, where Bradshaw was born.
The ceremony being at Tulane gave Bradshaw a chance to revisit the site of one of his greatest moments as a pro. In January of 1975, Bradshaw won his first of four Super Bowls as a player when the Steelers defeated the Minnesota Vikings 16-6 in Super Bowl IX. That was the third and final Super Bowl held at Tulane Stadium.
